Partnering individuals with unique needs and horses to achieve life-enhancing results,
High Horses has been serving residents of the Upper Connecticut River Valley region
of New Hampshire and Vermont since 1993. High Horses’ professional staff of
instructors and therapists, along with dedicated volunteers and carefully selected
horses, provide services at our farm in Sharon, VT.
Therapeutic horse riding works by involving the rider’s body and mind to promote increased
self-esteem and self-confidence, as well as to improve posture, balance, hand-eye coordination, and muscle tone. For individuals of all ages with physical, cognitive or emotional disabilities, including autism, cerebral palsy, developmental delay, and trauma, this unique experience with the horse can have many positive impacts.
High Horses adheres to the values of teamwork, integrity, respect, empathy and joyfulness in all that we do. Our mission is to improve the well-being of people with unique needs through a therapeutic equine experience. We aspire to offer state of the art equine assisted therapies and activities, providing a full range of services to our community. As a nationally accredited program, we help shape the future of our industry.
