Through Lyra's negligence the crusaders learn what the concept of a 'gun' is. After taunting Lyra about it, Discord decides to give the crusaders an actual pistol to entertain himself. It's up to Lyra to stop anypony from getting hurt.

Twilight damn it, Lyra :facehoof:.

But ponies don't have hands.

Children improperly handling firearms in real life? Terrible.

Children improperly handling firearms in a fictional story? Hilarious.

Just from reading the title I already know this can’t end well 😂

“I think I know what we’re gonna do this weekend, girls!” Scootaloo smirked. ‘ Just like an element of harmony, huh? I could be just like Rainbow Dash! ’ Her smirk grew sharper as she thought to herself. Scootaloo took the book and went to Twilight to check it out from the library.

Ferb, I know what we’re going to do today!

“So a gun is like an element of harmony?” Apple Bloom asked before Scootaloo could continue reading, now far more invested in the conversation.

It actually makes sense they wouldn’t think of it as actually harming someone beyond the bounds of cartoon believability. Never realized they would’ve thought of it like an Element.

Well I can certainly say, although I don’t know why, I didn’t expect Scoot would go to jail. (Makes sense she’s be the one to propose the idea though :rainbowlaugh:)

“Absolutely NOT!” Discord once again scoffed. “I’m here to teach you a lesson, not reward your depravity."

I'm mostly a silent reader, but damn... this is some peak writing

It really is. Loved that line. I can imagine Discord actually saying it in the show.

Fever dream high in the quiet of the night
You know that I caught it
Bad, bad boy
Shiny toy with a price
You know that I bought it

Killing me slow, out the window
I'm always waiting for you to be waiting below
Devils roll the dice, angels roll their eyes
What doesn't kill me makes me want you more

And it's new, the shape of your body
It's blue, the feeling I've got
And it's ooh, whoa, oh
It's a cruel summer
It's cool, that's what I tell 'em
No rules in breakable heaven
But ooh, whoa oh
It's a cruel summer
With you

Hang your head low
In the glow of the vending machine
I'm not dying
You say that we'll just screw it up in these trying times
We're not trying

So cut the headlights, summer's a knife
I'm always waiting for you just to cut to the bone
Devils roll the dice, angels roll their eyes
And if I bleed, you'll be the last to know

Oh, it's new, the shape of your body
It's blue, the feeling I've got
And it's ooh, whoa, oh
It's a cruel summer
It's cool, that's what I tell 'em
No rules in breakable heaven
But ooh, whoa, oh
It's a cruel summer
With you

I'm drunk in the back of the car
And I cried like a baby coming home from the bar (oh)
Said, "I'm fine, " but it wasn't true
I don't wanna keep secrets just to keep you
And I snuck in through the garden gate
Every night that summer just to seal my fate (oh)
And I screamed for whatever it's worth
"I love you, " ain't that the worst thing you ever heard?
He looks up grinning like a devil

It's new, the shape of your body
It's blue, the feeling I've got
And it's ooh, whoa, oh
It's a cruel summer
It's cool, that's what I tell 'em
No rules, in breakable heaven
But ooh, whoa, oh
It's a cruel summer
With you

"Deadly Force," on Gargoyles, is another example of poor firearms judgement.
